Maggie King
Maggie King, MSW, LCSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She received a Bachelor of Arts from Marquette University in 2014 and a Master of Social Work from Tulane University in 2018. Maggie is a Qualified School Social Worker, is certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and has completed specialized training in Disaster Mental Health and Trauma.
Maggie has worked as a school-based mental health clinician in the New Orleans public charter school system for over seven years, providing individual and small group counseling to children and adolescents ages 4–15. She has experience supporting clients through anxiety, grief and loss, anger management, emotional regulation, social skills development, behavioral challenges, school-related concerns, and everyday life stressors. Maggie also has extensive experience in crisis intervention and believes in the power of collaboration, working alongside parents and caregivers to support each child’s growth and reinforce skills learned in therapy beyond the counseling office.
Maggie primarily utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), incorporating DBT skills along with person-centered and trauma-informed approaches to meet each client where they are. She is passionate about providing whole-person, strengths-based care and believes meaningful growth stems from strong therapeutic relationships built on trust, curiosity, and compassion. Maggie strives to create a warm, collaborative environment where children, adolescents, and their families feel heard, supported, and empowered as they work toward their goals.
Outside of work, Maggie enjoys spending time in City Park, reading, going for runs, and exploring new places around the city.
