Katie Stephenson
Katie Stephenson, M.S., ATR, LPC is a registered art therapist and licensed professional counselor. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Art History with a Minor Concentration in Psychology from Louisiana State University in 2012, and a Master of Science in Art Therapy from Florida State University in 2016.
Katie has experience providing art therapy and counseling services in home, school, community and office settings with children and adolescents who have experienced trauma or are otherwise struggling with emotional, behavioral, or mental health concerns. Additionally, she has experience working with a variety of adult populations, including people experiencing homelessness, veterans, and individuals with dementia. In session, Katie facilitates art-making opportunities to assist clients in working towards a better quality of life through creative and personal development. Katie is experienced in a variety of therapeutic approaches, using Solution-Focused and Person-Centered therapy, as well as Mindfulness-based techniques, in her efforts to meet each client where they are in their progress, and encourage clients to make positive changes in order to better reach their goals.
Katie was born and raised in New Orleans. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, creating art, and spending time outdoors.
